“The main objective of this activity is to design and build an innovative test bench capable of subjecting linear electromechanical actuators, used in the aeronautical field, to both static and dynamic functional tests with variable resistant load throughout the actuator stroke, simulating conditions of critical work according to the high standards required for these applications (limit load, last load, backlash, endurance, temperature …). The innovative character of this bench is the use of a linear electric motor as a generator of the dynamic resistant load in place of the commonly used hydraulic or pneumatic systems. In this way it is possible to achieve: greater performance at high frequencies, greater efficiency and lower energy use, greater versatility and reactivity of the system, greater performance and reliability of the control system, simplicity in defining the work cycle and lower production costs.”
